DIRECTIONS

Camp Onomia is located in central Minnesota just south of Lake Mille Lacs on Shakopee Lake. It is an hour and a half drive from the Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport.
In Mid-July the average high temperature in Onamia is 79 degrees and the low at night is 57 degrees.

ACCOMMODATIONS

  • Expect hotel-style rooms with private bathrooms and a combination of full and twin-sized beds, each with a light quilt and pillow.

  • Lodge rooms do not have locks.

  • Lodge rooms do not have linens (NO SHEETS OR TOWELS).

  • Unless you requested sheets at registration PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN LINENS. There will be limited linens available at the camp and there is a $10 fee per bed.

  • There will be a hospitality room with snacks and beverages - feel free to bring contributions.

  • There are vending machines in the main lodge.

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE

  • ARRIVE Friday AFTER 5:00 PM. 

  • We will provide a more detailed itinerary and map at check-in.

  • Friday night dinner is at 6:30, if you’re arriving late there will be snacks in the lounge.

  • Except for Onomia staff, the camp will be exclusively reserved for us Bildens.

  • We are expected to depart on Sunday before noon to make space for Camp Onomia’s incoming campers.  

WIFI & CELL PHONE COVERAGE

There is limited WIFI in the retreat center. The director suggested that we turn off our WIFI when not in use.

OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES AT CAMP ONOMIA

  • There are canoes available for our use at the camp.

  • There is a playground area with equipment for young children.

  • There is a large field with a basketball court and a volleyball area. Balls are available for our use. There is also a disc golf course so if you’ve got them, bring them.

  • There is a beach and dock at the camp. Swimming will be allowed ONLY while the camp lifeguard is on duty Saturday afternoon from 1 to 4 pm.
